What is Baby Bath Thalasso?
Offering a Baby Thalasso Bath to your newborn allows him to relive the sensations experienced in his mother's womb and to find certain postures in which he was. The Bath allows a transition between intrauterine life and life in its new outside world.
Like a welcome gift to the world, the bath does not serve the purpose of “cleanliness” but rather of relaxation. A moment of tenderness, pleasure, sweetness...for the greater good of baby and parents.
What does this bath bring to baby?
This Thalasso moment is a truly special moment for the newborn . The benefits provided by this method are diverse:
- Release of certain tensions linked to birth
- Relaxation with hot water
- Time given to baby with attention and gentleness
- An improvement in the mother/child or father/child bond if it takes time to create
- A moment of intense communication through gaze and touch
Thalasso is suitable for which babies?
Baby Bath is suitable for all babies under 20 days old and up to 1 month old. But the sooner the better! It is best to do it after leaving the maternity ward so that the baby still remembers his intrauterine life. The bath thus allows him a “Rebirth” if the first was complicated.
All babies can benefit from it and Thalassotherapy is even recommended in certain cases when:
- The pregnancy is by IVF with a long PMA course
- The delivery was difficult with vacuum or forceps
- The birth was carried out by cesarean section
- The birth was difficult (oxygen, IV fluid for baby)
- Babies are born prematurely
However, Baby Bath should be avoided in certain cases:
- Hypothermia
- Weight loss
- Skin problems or wounds
- Umbilical infections
Do not hesitate to talk about the different problems encountered during birth when you contact a Thalasso specialist: you will know if your baby can benefit from it.

The Thalasso Bain Bébé (TBB) was created by Sonia Krief Rochel in the 2000s, then perfected with different training courses which complemented this method. Trainer since 2012, the practice has already integrated several maternity hospitals in France: Aix-en-Provence, Lille, Neuilly-sur-Seine, etc.).
